Fluorocarbon rubber manufacturers

Fluorocarbon elastomers have grown to major importance in the seal industry. Due to its wide range of chemical compatibility, temperature range, low compression set, and excellent aging characteristics, fluorocarbon rubber is the most significant single elastomer developed in recent history. There are a few fluorocarbon rubber manufacturers that ERIKS works with.

Properties fluorocarbon rubber

Fluorocarbon elastomers are highly fluorinated carbon-based polymers used in applications to resist harsh chemical and ozone attack. The working temperature range is considered to be -26°C to +205°/230°C. For short working periods it will take even higher temperatures. There are special fluorocarbons that can provide high fluorine content with low temperature properties. Special compounds having improved chemical resistance.

Types of Fluorocarbon rubber

Fluorocarbon rubber compounds are available as a copolymer (two monomers), terpolymer (three monomers) or as a tetrapolymer (four monomers).

Viton: fluorocarbon rubber manufacturer

Viton seal material is a synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer. Genuine Viton® is manufactured with 100% pure fluoroelastomers and is certified with the Viton® certificate, granted by DuPont Performance Elastomers. Our Viton seal materials are tested thoroughly in different environments (heat, cold, compression and fuel resistance) to measure the influence on:

  • Tensile Strength
  • Hardness
  • Tear Strength
  • Elongation
  • Special Gravity
